Trying to build my first Gaming PC to stream popular titles.

Blzxed

Hey everyone. I am pretty new to PC building, and the forums, so hopefully I hope there are some people that can give me tips on what to add and improve for my PC build. I dont know much about how to build a PC, or the parts to use, so sorry if my build looks cringy.

I currently have a budget $1000-$1500 to spend, and I want to get the best streaming and gaming experience without using alot of money.

I plan on streaming games like Fortnite at 1080p, but at low settings, Apex, other AAA games with med-high graphics, just depending on the game. I also plan on using two monitors if possible.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fzLpP3

EDIT | I made a new list with a few more parts. I think I will be switching to the Rysen 7, but that depends on after I use my leftover budget money. I need someone to find me a case cooler, and a cpu cooler, if I do need those. I think my GPU/CPU are pretty solid If I stream AAA games like Apex, Fortnite, GTA, PUBG at high to maybe EPIC settings at 1080p 60 FPS, but correct me if I am wrong.

If you could give me tips on what to add or what to do, that would be amazing!

CPU - Still thinking about Rysen 7, just so I dont have to change CPU's for the next 4-5 years, but that is another $100 so it depends.

Motherboard - I know they are out of stock on Amazon so I might just try finding it somewhere else. Has 4 solid USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports that I plan on using for my KB - M & and other stuff. 1 LAN port for my ethernet cable. I was hoping for 2 HDMI ports but I guess I might have to use my 1 HDMI port for the gaming monitor, and the other for looking at chat etc, or I might just get one monitor for now.

Memory - Seems like a pretty solid ram slot, for 16 GB, DDR4 3466. I saw that some people recommended it, so I just went with it.

SSD- WD is pretty reliable and fast for a good price. I'll be using the 500GB to store games and other stuff. And since my motherboard has Turbo M.2, I guess that'll be good (idk what m.2 is.)

HHD - WD again, fast and reliable. I might go try finding a 2TB just incase since I will be streaming and more than likely saving alot of data.

GPU - Instead of going for a 1070, or a 2060 RTX, I went with the 1060 because it has some pretty good FPS for most popular titles that are AAA at high-epic. It should be pretty good for streaming AAA titles at good FPS, but I might change it, just depends.

Case - I went with the nice Red and Black design. Pretty good price with good cable management.

PSU - Reviews say the PSU is usually quiet, and EVGA is a pretty trusted brand so eh.

im really lazy to put anything else, but please just give me some tips

Need peripherals? And/or operating system

I do need peripherals, besides a KB & M, mousepad, and gaming mic, since I have those, but I do need preferably 2 monitors, and a good streaming mic for talking to my stream.

I will more than likely be getting the free version of Windows 10.

[STAFF REMOVED] Also, do I need a ATX board if I only have one GPU? IDK but besides that I think this is a good list, but I might just get the Rysen 7 2700X. If I do get the Rysen 7, would I need another motherboard, or not, im not sure.

  • Using an activated Windows Licence, is actually bordering on piracy, so it’s not suggested here (buy a reputable key, and you won’t have to worry about anything)

  • The motherboard should be fine for one GPU, you don’t really have to worry about the form factor

  • A B450 is OK for a 2700X, but it’s advisable to get an X470 (that way, you’ll have a better platform to give the CPU a little bit more.

That being said, if you need wifi, you could also get a motherboard with it integrated

Just my two cents:

Motherboard: A micro ATX motherboard will look small in an ATX mid tower case. My suggestion would be to change to an ATX motherboard would give you more ports/slots and be a bit more aesthetically pleasing.

Ram: Running 3466 MHz with a Ryzen 2nd Generation CPU still might be hit or miss, because even though there have been ram compatibility improvements, it's still not guaranteed that your ram will run at that speed. Since this all depends on the motherboard you choose, I would check with the motherboard manufacturer's website for ram compatibility.

GPU: A GTX 1660 is a better choice than an older generation GTX 1060, since it's slightly faster and comes with all the generational improvements of the Turing architecture. But keep in mind that you will be running 2 monitors while gaming and streaming, so a faster GPU such as a 1160ti or a 2060 might be a better choice.

Just to let you know since you mentioned not having enough HDMI slots on the motherboard for two monitors, you use your GPU's video ports on the back not your motherboard's ports, since the motherboard HDMI is strictly reserved for APUs.

Good Luck!

I think that'll being sticking with AMD. I'm too broke and cheap for Intel, plus I just prefer AMD over Intel. So, the build that I have right below, would be good for streaming most popular AAA titles or games at 1080p 60 FPS with high-epic settings? Also would it be VR ready?

For 1080p, this setup should be more than enough. Not sure about VR, but I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.
