Description

This was the dream build i always wanted, I will be a junior in high school, started working in November of 2017 to pay for this setup myself. My previous "setup" was a $200 refurbished HP Pavilion i got on ebay, it was a 6th gen core i5 with 128gb of storage, 4gb of ram, and was set up on my family's dinning table. Hope you guys like it!

(I know the desk and cables on the desk are bad XD unfortunately my state doesn't have a IKEA so I'm waiting for my local furniture store to have a desk that matches my set up)

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 3 points 8 months ago

thanks dude means a lot! I put a lot of effort into the aesthetics

Velcade 3 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Nice set up. Grab yourself a monitor stand. I have a similar monitor set up (the PG279Q is amazing) and I was shocked at the amount of space I gained back using a monitor stand.

Also if you're wanting IKEA furniture Amazon now ships their products.

Looks good! Love the Vengeance Pro ram. +1

C3156 3 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Nice, clean build. What did you use to make the white panels on the SSD's and the graphics card?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I bought backplates from jmmods, he's a great guy and has awesome pricing, WAY better than v1tech. He can also do custom plates for a reasonable price. They're made of acrylic with a matte white finish

https://www.jmmods.com

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

Did you buy the custom parts from partpicker, or did you buy them from the other websites?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

i bought the backplates from jmmods.com the cables and aio tube sleeves are from cablemods

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

Hmm, does partpicker buy from the website and give it to you?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

no you buy directly from jmmods with paypal and he will ship them to you, just like buying anything from amazon. He is a nice guys and even gave me 2 ssd plates for the price of 1 because i just needed blank plates.

On your CableMod cables did you get the ModFlex or the ModMesh?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

i went with ModFlex cables and upgraded them to pro cables with black aluminum cable combs. Hands down worth upgrading to pro cable.

Snickah 1 point 6 months ago

Can you link me the Modflex pro cables? I can only seem to find Modmesh pro cables and not modflex.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

https://store.cablemod.com/configurator/

you can only find them in the configurator, it is an option in the drop down menu

Nice Build where did you get the custom backplate for the gpu from

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

i got them from jmmods, great guy and offers fantastic prices for great quality work. He's WAY better than v1tech in my opinion.

MrVeetrin 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

Great build man, digging the colour scheme!

I built in the same case, what did you think about the wire management room in the back?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

i feel like its ok. a lot of youtubers hype it up too much its great but its not the best cause the main routing channel isnt deep enough for me to put my 24 pin. The Velcro straps are a lot better than the plastic clips though. Also i was luckily to not have any hdds so i removed the hdd tray in the basement and it gave me a lot more space to put the extra cable length. If you do have a hdd it will be harder to hide the extra cable length, i also think there should be more room between the back panel and the cables. Overall its good, 7/10

MrVeetrin 1 Build 1 point 8 months ago

Yeah I have a hdd so in just had the space that was there. The very little space anyways lol

lelapinnoir 1 point 8 months ago

Where is that desktop background from? I'd love to use it for my system.

IrishWristwatch 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

yeah they're nice, super crisp sounds

Scary_Terry 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Awesome build! I'm a big fan of the white theme. +1

Ps: Paint that gpu shroud white! Lol

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

thanks! i thought about painting the shroud but then it was add too much white to the middle of the case and off set the balance

Tetsuclaw 5 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I know the desk and cables on the desk are bad XD

As far as the cables on your desk I have seen much much worse so don't beat yourself up over it. Your build is super clean so we can see you are at least making a good effort in that field.

My previous "setup" was a $200 refurbished HP Pavilion i got on ebay,

That is not a bad price for that kind of laptop, would be great for being a daily driver for office work, media playback (like youtube+netflix) and general web browsing. This new PC build looks to be a monster. Unlocked i7+top end gpu+1440p high refresh rate display, the trifecta in gaming experience.

If you are looking for a name for this build how about call it "White Lightning"? A super fast white themed build!lol

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

nice name describes the pc well

THE CLOUD

All things come from the cloud.

Was it a b**** clipping on the end caps of the aio sleeves??? I feel like my end caps didn't clip all the way.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

yeah it sucked! mine arnt even on all the way i just turned them to make it look like they were clipped in lol

krauser07 1 point 8 months ago

How about the temps ? Will they get too hot ? The airflow seems to be a little bit restricted...

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

temps are normal, there is ventilation on the other side and bottom of the case for front fans

ObiQuinn22 1 point 8 months ago

How’s the freesync monitor doing with the nvidia cars? Just interested, love the asthetic

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

no problems what so ever, it acts like a normal monitor

xxtomekiaxx 1 point 8 months ago

I see the cpu cooler you used and you said you used a custom fan grill but I’m confused on how did you get white on your fans that are on your radiator. It seems like white clips from the fans.

Jamlons 1 point 8 months ago

That 17th photo shows the difference between good and alright panel colours really well! Anyways, great build and nice theme!

+1

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

oh yeah i notice it too, my main ips screen is far better with colors. Ill probably buy another monitor the same as my main in the future

crisperez2 1 point 8 months ago

Awesome build! Definitely some inspiration was generated by looking at this one!

Quick question from a newb here. Those white plates over the GPU and SSDs - Did they come with the case? It really gives it a clean look in the finish. I purchased a GTX 1080 recently and it did not come with any plates like that.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

no bought them from jmmods

BrainNurse 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I love solid white build like this. Great job.

Gheshi_ 1 point 8 months ago

Nice Build. Got a question doe, for a pretty small case like that. How Is the airflow inside? Is it good or could it be better? Think or buying that one but I don't know.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

its acquitted, i dont have anything to compare it to but it works and its great. i got it over the h700 because i liked how it looked better

imcadenkey 1 point 7 months ago

Looks amazing dude I’m almost done with my first build and am a junior as well. Same story as you lol, got a job and built a computer. Also, Where did you get the white cover for the Gpu?

about 13 months of working XD

crisperez2 1 point 7 months ago

Are you able to explain to a newb what the fan controller is for? I love the white lighting and the white hose sleeve. Did you get those from Jmmods also?

I am currently working on a build myself and I am modeling it off of this. I want to be upfront because I don’t want to be accused of it later, so just FYI; I love the look of this build and I want one just like it!

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

sorry for late reply thanks for the kind words and i got the white tube sleeves from cablemod

A fan controller is just that, it controls the speed of your fans. They normally take 4 pin PWM connectors (which most fans now a days have) the one i have is also takes older 3 pin connectors. A fan controller allows you to control the speed of all your fans with one software and you can have custom fan curves, presets, and rpm.

and yeah feel free to base your build off of Alpine (Alpine is the name i went with). Just give me some credit when sharing it with people ;) and i would love to see pictures when youre done!!

crisperez2 1 point 6 months ago

Hey FilthyCasual,

Thank you for the reply! I am currently in the process of building the rig now! Very exciting! I still need to order the fan controller and some custom fans so that I can get that sleek white look that you have on Alpine. I am getting there though!

Thank you again for the reply and I will definitely be giving you credit when I post my final build!!

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

sounds good and thank you

crisperez2 1 point 6 months ago

Actually another quick question. Where did you get your custom cables? Also from Cablemod?

Thanks again!

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

yeah! they are pro extension with black aluminium cable combs

Snickah 1 point 7 months ago

Jesus christ that's an amazing build!

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

thanks!

Kayslay 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

What's that on the back of your radiator?

Also, this is hands down, my favorite build I've seen here. I love everything about this build! 10/10

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

thanks man, and the white thing on the back of the radiator is a acrylic fan grill i got from jmmods

https://www.jmmods.com/

TPN_MeDS 1 point 7 months ago

Looks so clean, bravo.

ca.ll.uM99 1 point 6 months ago

Thats one clean asf build! I plan on making the same PC in the same case, minus a few changes. How easy was it to install stuff in the H500? Did you have any troubles with the Corsair H115i PRO?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 2 points 6 months ago

Thank! Its a really tight fit, I first i thought it wasnt going to fit but i moved the fan wires to side and was able to get it in.

ca.ll.uM99 1 point 6 months ago

Thanks, one more question if you don't mind, what are the CPU and GPU temps like? It's a small case with only a few fans

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

40-48c on cpu and 55-low/mid 70c on gpu temps are pretty normal, i also have my fan profiles set to quiet

RWags82 1 point 5 months ago

Sorry to add to this question - are the fans on the radiator set up as Push or Pull fans?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

no no i love questions lol the fans are pull

Snickah 1 point 6 months ago

Just a question. Why did you put Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub if you already had the commander pro in your part list?

//

Also is the fan on top the 140mm one or the 120mm one?

Thanks!

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

it is a 140mm

you need a Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub to control/power the rgb lights the LL fans have 2 4 pin connectors on them, one for power and rpm control, and one solely for rgb. the power connector goes directly to a fan header on the command pro, the rgb connector HAS to go to Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub and then the connector coming off of the Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub connects to the commander pro

heres the order: fan power cable>fan header on commander pro rgb cable>Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub>rgb controller on commander pro

hope this helped, and sorry for the slow response

RWags82 1 point 5 months ago

Does the 140mm not clear on the back side?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

the back only offers support for a 120mm the top is a 140 or 120mm but i barley got a 140mm in it

thedudeonkent 1 point 6 months ago

Hey man! Looks really nice! I am a junior too and working towards a computer myself! (Epic op in my lists) are the LL fans worth it?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 6 months ago

They are worth it for the aesthetics. In my opinion they are the best rgb fans. In terms of performance, they prefrom like any other fan. They are pretty quiet though. So if it’s aesthetics you care about, they are worth it. If you care about performance, they’re fans that preformed better for a lower price.

thedudeonkent 1 point 6 months ago

Thanks bro! i like the look too and i think i will get them!

techxforce 1 point 5 months ago

This PC is by far the best i have seen.

TootyFruity123 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

My favourite build on the site ive seen so far

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

thanks glad u liked it

Cornerbog 1 point 5 months ago

Did you use the ML fans for the radiator? I'm looking at getting LL140's for my system but since they don't have great airflow I'm wondering if I should just get different RGB fans, but the LL's are so pretty...

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

yes i used the ML fans on the rad. I honestly think the LL and ML have basically the same airflow, ML is just slight better. If i had to pick between the two i would go with LL cause the look out weighs the slight performance difference

Sanely17 1 point 5 months ago

Where did you put your other two fans and why are the sizes a bit different? Really sick looking build tho

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

thanks, glad u liked it. The case offers support for a 120mm in the back and a 140mm or 120mm on top. So i put a 120mm on the back and a 140mm on the top for most airflow. The other 2 fans are on my radiator in the front

TootyFruity123 1 Build 1 point 5 months ago

how would you rate the case ( im thinking about getting it to replace my cit f3 )

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

9/10 i take off a point because there is not a lot of room in the basement for cables. the only reason i was able to fit my extra cable length in the basement is because i removed to hdd brackets. I have all ssds so i could remove it.

RWags82 1 point 5 months ago

Can you see the LED from the ML fans or is that just the RGB strip that lights the radiator area up? Im debating on the LED or non LED ML fans.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

it is the rgb strips that are lighting up the radiator side . You cant see the leds from the ML fans at all unless u are looking through the front intake holes on the left side of the case.

May I ask which fans are exhaust and which are intake? thanks

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

sorry for late reply. The ML are intake and the LL are exhaust

reelgus 1 point 4 months ago

And you paid for all this at how old?

(Im working with a HP Pavillion aswell, except the hardware is working at like 10% of its potential, all of its like dead. And its an AMD CPU, A6-something.)

Title it Snowmonster: My First Overkill PC

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

Did you get the case with also the fans?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

no, i bought new fans because i needed something prettier than the stock fans. The original case fans are sitting in the attic collecting dust.

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

Hmm, nice choice there.

Undyingsonar 1 point 3 months ago

I have the same parts except my cpu cooler has a white radiator with a black pump and i only have two vengeance rams. DAMNIT YOURS LOOKS BETTER. Did you do something manually for your gpu backplate or did it come like that?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

thanks, i got the gpu and ssd backplates from jmmods.com

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

you don't have a HDD?

nope, just 1.2 TB are ridiculously fast solid state storage lol

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

KianB 1 point 3 months ago

And also did you paint the ram?

DirtTroll 1 point 3 months ago

Will the fans work with Mystic Lighting or do I need to buy the separate accessories?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

the fan RGB will only work with Corsair iCue and sync with other corsair products

glich610 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

how did you get the back plate, aio cooler pipes and the ssd white? stickers and spray paint?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

i bought the back plates for the ssds and gpu from jmmods.com and i got the aio pipes white by purchasing a sleeved aio kit from cablemods

Jushi 1 point 3 months ago

mr clean is in heaven. +2

GeoTheGreat 1 point 2 months ago

I am curious about your white wire cooling. Can you please tell me what are those and where to buy? I am planning to build my first pc too like yours.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

yeah! i got them from cablemod its called flex sleeved aio tube or something similar to that. I also got the white power cables from there too

GeoTheGreat 1 point 2 months ago

Where did you put your RGB LED fans?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

rgb fans are in the back and on top

GeoTheGreat 1 point 2 months ago

Cause you got 4 fans ya? where did you put the other fans?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

120 LL fan in back; 140 LL fan on top; 2 140 ML in front of rad

GeoTheGreat 1 point 2 months ago

how did you mount your aio in the case? I am having hard time to place my aio. I did put my fan infront of my radiator. We have same case and aio.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

make sure the fan cables are not getting pinched in the back by the fan mounting plate. I thought my aio wasnt fitting in but really it was just my fan cables getting in the way. Route your fan cables first through the cut outs

YourSweet_666 1 point 2 months ago

Hello :) What's the temperature of cpu and gpu? I have the same case, but I was told that the cooler is not good because you can not mount top and then sends air to the GPU

GeoTheGreat 1 point 2 months ago

Last question, How did you manage to control the RGB fans of yours? did you download a software?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

its a combination of hardware and software hardware- corsair commander pro software- corsair icue

sushantvs 1 point 1 month ago

Doesn't the CPU cooler comes with ML fans ? , If so why you have ML fans separately in parts list?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

the ml fans are suppose to perform better than the LL fans, i think they have more static pressure but im not sure. They preform the same as the LL fans. They are separate in the parts like because they are a different items and cant be grouped together

Idontknowwhatimdoing46 1 point 1 month ago

SUPER EPIC! +1

Mldeboo1 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

Very nice build! +1 -I know it's been awile since you've built this so maybe you'll still check your messages. I almost went with your case but ended up with the older Elite. How do you like the case, you still happy with it? You should check out my build as it is similar to yours. I do like yours a little better, especially cause of the custom backplates. I'm thinking of getting some from jmmods as well. Is that a cover over your radiator? Is that from jmmod as well?

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

thanks, i am still really happy with the case. I dont have any major negatives to say about it. If i had to nit pick then i saw the dust filters are a bit annoying to clean. I would highly recommend jmmods over other companies like v1tech. It is cheaper while maintaining the same quality. The thing on the radiator is a cover i got from jmmods too, i think its meant to go on fans, but i used it as a radiator plate.

robmartin703 1 point 7 days ago

what mouse are you using? If it is a wired corsair mouse, how does it do with the mouse pad, I am thinking of getting one for my wired RGB Sabre mouse. I ask about wired cause I heard one complaint that the mouse pad was only good with wireless mice.

FilthyCasuaI submitter 2 Builds 1 point 1 day ago

It is a logitech g502 mouse, i really dont understand what youre asking. If your asking about the quality of the mouse pad, it works just like a normal mouse pad and im sure any mouse will work it. I have the cloth version and its the same as any other mouse pad but with lights.
