Description

This is my first build, I had a project for one of my classes that was to build a PC. I know I could have bought something like a GTX 970 but I had a low budget at the beginning which then got bigger as I bought all of the main parts which kinda sucks :(

I really want some feedback on it, I will be uploading some more pictures once I have time and I will be overclocking soon, just need to learn more about Voltages.

The system is mainly for gaming , some programing and maybe some 3D modeling still a newbie at that .

I will be adding another GPU but I have to upgrade the Power supply first so it might take time.

UPDATE: So I just ordered the second GTX 960 which needed a new power supply so I went Rosewill 750W Gold Rated power supply, this should let me play most games at 1080p well over 60 FPS which might require a new monitor in the future because of Screen Tear.

What do u guys think about the GTX 960 ?

Part Reviews

Motherboard

Very good, full of features and ports the only problem is not with the actual motherboard with the AMD chipset that doesn't support PCIe gen 3 which kinda sucks

Case

Love the case , it looks sexy and easy to cable manage in but when you get everything in you will have a bad time closing the bad side panel.

Monitor

Only disadvantage is the one limited amounts of ports

Keyboard

Love the keyboard, I think it uses Khale Blues or something like that but sounds exactly like a cherry MX blue would

Mouse

Ok mouse nothing special, it feels good and good and with all those keys on the side DOTA 2 will be a lot easier.

Headphones

Very nice Headset, works like a charm and sounds great. The 7.1 channel will work great with the 7.1 sound card I got.

Why liquid cooler is not connected to anything? As i see from picture it is swinging on the gpu, maybe I am seeing it wrong. The light reflects too much on the side panel, clear photos will be apreciated.

Yeah, I said that I have to install the CPU in my class room to get credit. So I installed to make sure everything worked and it did but I took it off just because I need to install it again in front of my teacher to get full credit so thats why and I dont have any pictures with the CPU installed.

Why 2 960s? You could've just gotten one 970.

They are ok, kinda quite, they provide good airflow and the LED are great but it will not light up your whole case. I got case LED so I am good with that

Really nice parts list. Very good case. It should allow for great cable management. I also would like to see some interior photos.

The cable management is great, but it's very hard to close the back side after you have all the cables in , the Foam on the back side has a spot where it's almost gone. But other than that it's very good case and easy to build with. It has a very sexy clean look especially with the White LED. I will show you when I upload the rest of the pictures.

What games do you play?

I would've dropped the sound card, gotten a single gtx 970 instead of sli 960's due to the lack of SLI support in games, and with the money saved from that, I would've picked up an i5 4690k. It would've come out to a similar price. Overall a decent build though. Nice job.

I actually would have done the same if I knew that I am gona have such a big budget, but the problem was that my budget started very low around 800$ then It got bigger slowly as I had got more money from selling old stuff. I would agree about the SLI support because I having problems with AC Unity. The CPU is great and I am gona overclock it soon

Yeah, AMD CPUs tend to overclock like a beast if they're properly cooled. I had the 8350 for awhile before upgrading to an i7 4790k, and I got the 8350 up to a 5ghz stable overclock.

I think I can reach the same overclock with all the fans I have, because it runs really cool right niw

Nice Build Overall. But I have to ask, why go through the trouble to cool the FX-6300 with a H100i? You have a lot of really nice parts but a crappy cpu. The added gtx 960 would clock out under its full preformance because of the lower grade cpu. Just because you can push the overclock on a lower grade cpu doesnt yeild direct preformance. What I would suggest on your next build is to get a high quality cpu, like an intel i7 or a FX-8350. It would be in your best intrests to pick up an eight core cpu. Also you have high grade MOBO with 16gb of ram, and your cpu cant even access all the power your build has to offer. If you are in the relm of upgrading, use your am3+ socket to buy a FX-8350 or an 8370. It will be well worth your while and the H100 will make it a beast. And that MOBO has a decent sound card built in sou you probably would have been better off without it.

Agree 100%, glad someone pointed that out since i couldn't be bothered typing all of that. Even an unlocked Intel 4 core, or the 8370/50 as you pointed out would make this pc soo much better.
